![]() Smoke will still trail from damaged planes like in the console version, but the overall structural integrity of your craft is much more obvious thanks to a numeric health meter. Enemies in the sky put up a decent fight here, with some even performing evasive loops and maneuvers to get the drop on you and send a few more bullets into your fuselage. An approach from the front will result in taking an unnecessary amount of damage, or even a collision, which seems rather easy to accidentally do in this game. Ideally, you'll want to drop in right behind a target here, since it's more difficult to successfully connect with bullets when on an approach line perpendicular to that of your enemy's flight path. Since this is set in World War II, the majority of the fighting is done with machine guns. ![]() In that way it's awkward but simplified, and with a little practice, whizzing around above the battlefields shouldn't be too difficult. If only a half-loop is performed, the plane will automatically right itself with the horizon as soon as you let go of the nub. Since there's only the one input the range of flying maneuvers are rather limited, though loops are still possible. For the control scheme, there's a heavy use of the analog nub and it's going to feel awkward at first.
